It's not every sports blogger that would lay down a 5 word alliteration like that for you but, here at YourSportsFix, that's just how we roll.
Anyway, as the title suggests, there are rumblings that the Cardinals are close to a deal with yet another rehab project, Matt Clement. The source of this rumor appears to be the Belleville News Democrat (across the river from St. Louis) but I also need to give a hat tip to Tim Dierkes over at mlbtraderumors.com.
Being a Cardinal fan, I can tell you that there are a lot of Redbird faithful that are getting sick of these types of signings. The Cardinals obviously need pitching but it's been a while since Dave Duncan orchestrated a Woody Williams-esque turn around and the most recent project (Kip Wells) is fresh on fans' minds.
Other reports out of St. Louis have the Cardinals looking at former Angel ace, Bartolo Colon. The aging pitcher would likely be a one year stop-gap until Mark Mulder and/or Chris Carpenter return from injury but you can pretty much just go back and re-read the last paragraph for my take on this rumor.

I think Matt clement is 5 times the pitcher Kip Wells is. he is very tough mentally, and if he can return to his old self in some form, then we may have somthing here. we have to give Duncan some credit here.. pitchers have done great under him.
Kip Wells was a head case… Duncan isnt a shrink, he’s a coach. And if we sign Colon as well, then there will be a happy redbird fan right here!.. I mean, those guys are capable of winning some games for us!! and plus theres only so many Becketts, Peavy’s and santana’s out there right now
