News: Cards Sign LaRue to Backup Molina

by pops on November 20, 2007

The Post-Dispatch is reporting that the Cardinals have made three signings, none of them terribly significant. The one move that promises to impact the 2008 starting roster is the signing of free-agent catcher Jason LaRue to take Gary Bennett's place as Yadi Molina's backup. The Red Birds also signed two starting pitchers, Dewon Brazelton and John Wasdin to minor-league contracts. Given the Cards' lack of starting hurlers, they could well end up in the big show sometime in 2008.
