Indians Trade Betancourt to Rockies

by Ben Cook on July 23, 2009

Ed Price over at Fanhouse.com reports that the Colorado Rockies have acquired right handed setup man, Rafael Betancourt, from the Cleveland Indians.

A Rockies trade for a reliever was known to be in the works this morning but the target was not known.

Betancourt should help shore up the Rockies bullpen, having compiled a record of 1-2 with a 3.52 ERA thus far this year. However the reliever is also coming off a groin injury that caused him to miss an entire month.

Cleveland's return for Betancourt has not yet been disclosed.
