The Florida Marlins have reportedly traded for first baseman Nick Johnson right at the trade deadline.
The Nationals will receive AA left-handed pitcher Aaron Thompson in exchange for their heavy hitting but oft-injured first baseman who will be a free agent at the end of the year.
The Marlins had been having off and on talks with the Nationals regarding Johnson and it appears they pulled the trigger on the deal right as the non-waiver trade deadline expired at 4pm eastern.
