Rumor: Kenny Rogers Fires Boras

If  so called "super agent" Scott Boras was worried about the press he's been receiving lately with A-Rod negotiating his own deal, he's certainly not going to like Kenny Rogers' most recent decision. ESPN.com is reporting that the ancient pitcher is going to sever ties with Boras and represent himself and hopefully resign with the Tigers. We'd previously reported that Rogers planned to test free agency despite multiple promises to return to Detroit. At the time it was purely speculation that the move was prompted by Boras but the latest developments certainly seem to back that theory up. There's no doubt Boras overplayed his hand in the A-Rod situation and it appears he's done the same with Rogers. Could this be the beginning of the end for Boras? Here's to hopin!
