The Astros continued selling off major league pieces, moving third baseman Chris Johnson to the Arizona Diamondbacks today in exchange for two minor league prospects, Jon Morosi of FOX Sports tweeted.
Johnson is just 27 and is under team control through 2016 and fills a big hole at third base for the Snakes. This season he hit .279 with 8 home runs and 41 RBI for Houston.
In return, the cellar-dwelling Astros receive more young players that they hope will be a big part of their future in outfielders Bobby Borchering and Marc Krauss. Houston selecting Borchering with its first round pick in 2009, and Krauss in the second round the same year. Both have played at the Double A level this season.
