It could be pending Dempster’s approval, or the approval of MLB – it’s not clear yet.

From earlier: The Atlanta Braves have bolstered their rotation with veteran righty Ryan Dempster today. The Cubs traded the 35-year-old two-time All Star to the Braves in exchange for 22-year-old starter Randall Delgado.¬†MLB.com’s Mark Bowman tweeted the news.

The Cubs could also be sending some money the Braves’ way, Keith Law of ESPN.com adds.

Dempster missed about a month due to injury in June, but has been stellar when he’s on the mound, leading all of baseball with a 2.11 ERA. He’ll provide the Braves with a strong veteran presence along with Tim Hudson to lead the team’s rotation down the stretch.

Delgado, 22, has pitched parts of two seasons for the Braves and has a career record of 5-10 with a 3.98 ERA in 24 starts. Cubs fans should expect to see the young righty in the rotation for their rebuilding club for the rest of this season.
