Trade Report: Cubs Ship Ohman to Atlanta

by pops on December 4, 2007

The Journal Constitution reports that the Braves have acquired left-handed reliever Will Ohman and utility infielder Omar Infante from the Cubs in exchange for right-handed rookie Jose Ascanio. Ohman will replace free agent Ron Mahay in the Braves bullpen and Infante will provide backup in the infield. In return, the Cubs get a hard-throwing young (22) pitcher who had 13 strikeouts in 16 innings for Atlanta last year following his promotion from Double-A.

i’m not sure about this one…Cox doesnt usually like “specialists” which is exactly what Ohman is. He gets destroyed by righties. i feel like there were better options out there.
