Orioles Seek Starting Pitching

by kelly on January 3, 2012

The Baltimore Orioles are looking to improve on their league-worst team ERA they posted last season, and are seeking upgrades in the free agent market, FOX Sports’ Ken Rosenthal wrote this morning.

One of their main targets is free agent lefty Paul Maholm. The 29-year-old went 6-14 with a 3.66 ERA in 26 starts for the Pirates in 2011.

The Orioles are also a dark horse candidate for the services of Edwin Jackson, but he may be out of their price range as he’s a Scott Boras client and one of the best remaining available starters.
