The White Sox continue to be one of the most active teams at this trade deadline, picking up lefty starter Francisco Liriano for two minor leaguers in a trade with the Twins, Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports tweets.
White Sox GM Ken Williams missed out on his top trade target, Zack Greinke, earlier this week, but add a solid starter in Liriano. The 28-year-old lefty has had his ups and downs this season, but he has the ability to dominate, striking out over a batter per inning this season.
The Twins will receive infielder Eduardo Escobar and pitcher Pedro Hernandez in return for their former ace.
