Lee Nixes Trade to the Dodgers

The Dodgers and Astros had an agreement in place that would’ve sent outfielder Carlos Lee to L.A., but the veteran has a no-trade clause and opted to not waive it, and thus will remain an member of the Astros. Jon Heyman of CBS Sports tweeted today that the Dodgers have pulled the deal off the table and are moving on.

Lee, 36, is a three-time All Star and has played for four teams over his 14-year career, but has found a home in Houston, where he has played since 2007. He owns a cattle ranch in the Houston area, presumably a big reason why he insisted on a no-trade clause being in his contract.

This season he is hitting .285 with 5 home runs and 29 RBI for the fifth place Astros.
