Buehrle Demands No-Trade Clause

by pops on December 2, 2011

Mark Rosenthal is reporting via Twtter that the Marlins and Mark Buehrle are at an impasse over the southpaw’s demand for a no trade-clause in any contract.

Buehrle, who has spent his entire career with the White Sox, went 13 and 9 with a 3.59 ERA in 2011 and has a lifetime record of 161 and 119 with an overall ERA of  3.83. Currently the Marlins do not have any players with a no-trade clause. If negotiations with Buehrle break down, expect the Marlins to intensify their pursuit of C. J. Wilson.
