Marlins Offer Six Years to CJ Wilson

Offering further indication that the Marlins have moved on from Pujols, several sources are confirming an earlier report from Tom Verducci that they have offered a six-year deal to C. J. Wilson.

The lefty is 43 and 35 over seven years with the Rangers and went 16 and 7 in 2011. Over the past two years his won/loss record is  31 and 15.

The other team in the running is the Angels who are not expected to be willing to match a six-year deal.

The Rangers also seem to be out of the running to retain their star pitcher.

If the Marlins sign Wilson, that likely takes them out of the running for Buehrle who would likely end up with the Nationals.
