Brewers interested in Ryan Dempster

It looks like pitcher Ryan Dempster could be wearing a Milwaukee Brewers uniform.

That’s according to Ken Rosenthal of FOXSports.com who reports that the Brewers are interested in adding the veteran right-hander to their rotation.

Facing the possible loss Shaun Marcum to free agency, Milwaukee would probably like to add at least one quality starter, and Dempster would seem to be a good fit.

The 35-year-old has spent the majority of his 15-season major league career in the National League, pitching for the Florida Marlins, Cincinnati Reds and Chicago Cubs, and has an lifetime record of 124-124 with a 4.33 ERA in 547 career games.

He has been a starter for the majority of his career, making 322 starts

In 2012, Dempster posted a 3.38 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 153/52 K/BB ratio in 173 innings for the Cubs and Rangers.

He will be well sought after, and besides the Brewers, as been targeted by the Red Sox, Twins and Cubs.

Spread the Rumor!
