The Milwaukee Brewers have signed former Orioles reliever Jorge Julio to a one year non-guaranteed contract reportedly worth $950,000 should he make the opening day roster.
Julio pitched for Cleveland and Atlanta last year putting up a 5.60 ERA with the Indians in 15 games before posting an impressive 0.73 ERA in 12 games for the Braves. The 29 year old right handed reliever averaged nearly 28 saves a year his final 3 seasons with the Orioles but hasn't been given a closer role since. The Brewers, however, may give him a chance to win the job in spring training barring the signing of one of the top closers on the market (which doesn't appear likely given Milwaukee's tight purse strings).
