Brewers Ready To Listen on Greinke

The Brew Crew lost in dramatic fashion again yesterday, capping an 0-6 road trip and they’re ready to throw in the towel. They’re in sell mode as the deadline approaches, and that means the #1 man on other teams’ list is starter Zack Greinke, Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel tweets.

The 28-year-old righty will have many suitors and the asking price will be high. With many top teams looking for pitching, the Brewers are expecting to be able to fill some organizational needs by dealing their ace.

Interested teams include the White Sox, Rangers, Braves, and Angels. Greinke is a free agent after this season, but that doesn’t mean a team who gets him will be picking up a three-month rental. He’s open to signing an extension, tweets Jon Morosi of FOX Sports.

Greinke is having a phenomenal year again, going 9-3 with a 3.44 ERA in 21 starts this season. His most recent audition for suitors was fantastic: 7 innings of three-hit ball, allowing just one earned run.
