Ramirez Wants Restructured Deal from Miami

The fall out from the Marlins spending spree is beginning to hit home. Buster Olney of ESPN is reporting that Hanley Ramirez has informed the team he wants to restructure his 6 year/$70 million contract. The current deal runs through 2014 and it’s not yet known what Ramirez is asking.

That may have implications for other Marlins deals reportedly in the works.

Ramirez feels he deserves extra cash if he’s going to move from shortstop to third base, a move he’s not happy with. Apparently the Marlins aren’t happy with him either.
