Dickey Trade Might Be Around the Corner

After slowing down for a few weeks, the R.A. Dickey trade rumors have heated up again today, and the team that seems the most confident that it will get something done for the knuckleballer is the Toronto Blue Jays, as Jon Morosi of FOX Sports tweets.

Contract extension talks between the Mets and Dickey have gained little traction this winter, so the team has been exploring the trade market. And there’s plenty of interest in the reigning N.L. Cy Young Award winner, though teams that were thought to be in the market for him are now out. The Royals have since acquired James Shields, and the Rangers don’t seem to want to give up the package of players that the Mets want.

That leaves the blue Jays, with a contract extension with the 38-year-old right hander being the sticking point.
