The Houston Chronicle has Andy Petite re-upping for another year with the Yanks. He'd been contemplating retirement but teammates helped talk him out of it. Apparently that gives the Yankees a bit of flexibility to play hardball with the Twins over Johan Santana. According to the NYT, they've given Minnesota until tonight to either accept their offer of Phil Hughes, Melky Cabrera and a midlevel prospect for Santana or the deal is off.
