Toronto has deal in place for kuckleballer R.A. Dickey

It appears the R.A. Dickey saga may be drawing to a close.

According to FOX Sports’ Ken Rosenthal, the Toronto Blue Jays have an agreement in principle to acquire the knuckleballer from the NY Mets, and have been given a negotiating window of Tuesday at 2 pm ET, in order to extend him.

The deal, which would send Travis d’Arnaud, John Buck, Noah Syndergaard and an unnamed, non-elite prospect to the Mets for Dickey, Josh Thole and an unnamed, non-elite prospect, will become official once an agreement on an extension can be met.

Dickey, who’s owed $5 million in 2013, posted a 2.73 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 230/54 K/BB ratio in 233 2/3 innings this summer for the Mets on his way to capturing the NL CY Young Award.

Meanwhile, Syndergaard and d’Arnaud are ranked third and first, respectively, on Baseball America‘s most recent listing of the Blue Jays’ Top 10 prospects.

They should be great prospects for New York to build on.
