Priority for Pirates is Another SP

by kelly on December 27, 2011

The Pirates are looking to compete in a Pujols-less and potentially Fielder-less NL Central in 2012, and their top priority is another starting pitcher, Dean Kovacevic of the Pittsburgh Tribun-Review wrote in his blog.

The Bucs added lefty starter Erik Bedard earlier this winter, and starters Jeff Karstens, James McDonald, and Kevin Correia should be in the mix after solid 2011 campaigns. With money to spend, Pittsburgh could look into adding a big veteran arm like Roy Oswalt, or other free agents with playoff experience like lefty Joe Saunders or righty Edwin Jackson.

Spread the Rumor!
