The St. Louis Post-Dispatch is reporting that Cardinals general manager John Mozeliak has confirmed he met with Scott Roland's agent to discuss the third baseman's availability for a trade. Rolen has a no-trade claus but would be willing to waive it to escape manager Tony Larussa. The trouble dates back to 2005 when, in the view of Rolen (and a lot of others in town), the Cards mishandled Scott's shoulder injury. Things only got worse this winter when Larussa sent Rolen a letter explaining what he needed to do to get back in the manager's good graces. Only time will tell whether headmaster Mozeliak will arrange a transfer or if Scott will be serving detention on the Cardinal bench this season.
