Four Team Blockbuster Could be Brewing

by kelly on December 5, 2012

The winter meeting are abuzz this morning with talk of a potential four-team blockbuster brewing, Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports writes.

The Rangers, Diamondbacks, Rays, and Indians all have specific needs and pieces to deal, and the four teams are getting together to discuss possibilities.

There are a lot of big names being thrown around with potential destinations, like Justin Upton and James Shields to Texas, Asdrubal Cabrera to Arizona, and prospects mostly from Texas to Cleveland and Tampa Bay.

A lot of this makes sense for all the teams, as the Rangers could fill their need for a starter and a big bat, while the Diamondbacks could end their long search for a shortstop. Four-team deals are tricky, however. But even if it doesn’t get done, smaller, two-team deals can still break off from monster trade talks like these.
