Holland has emerged as one of the team’s top young starters and a key to their continued success in the American League West. Last season, in his third season in the majors, Holland went 16-5 with a 3.95 ERA. His four shutouts was tops in the American League.

With Holland now in place until 2015, and Japanese sensation Yu Darvish expected to contribute, the Rangers have the makings of a young, talented staff that could keep them relevant for several more years.
