Texas Making Progress with Josh Hamilton

Josh Hamilton is one of the most high profile free agents out there, but that doesn’t mean he’ll be on a new team come spring. Ken Rosenthal is reporting that the Rangers are making progress with the free agent outfielder on a four-year contract.

When the season ended with Hamilton in a big-time slump, it looked like the outfielder had certainly played his last game for the Rangers. But perhaps the departure of Mike Napoli to the Red Sox is giving the Rangers second thoughts about letting their slugger leave town.

Hamilton has been reportedly seeking a seven-year contract, but that just seems unlikely given his age and history. The Brewers, Mariners, Red Sox, Phillies, and Orioles have also been linked to the 32-year-old former MVP.
