Toronto Close to Acquiring R.A. Dickey

As reported last night, the Blue Jays and Mets made progress on a trade that would send reigning N.L. Cy Young Award winner R.A. Dickey to the Blue Jays. Well CBSSports.com’s Jon Heyman tweets this morning that the two sides have agreed on the players that will be involved in the trade, and it’s just a matter of time before it becomes official.

The Mets have been after a young catcher in any trade talks for their veteran right hander and the Jays have one of the best in top prospect Travis d’Arnaud. The 23-year-old former first round pick played in AAA last season and hit .333/.350/.595 in 67 games. If the Mets get him in a trade, we can expect to see him getting a lot of times in the bigs this year with New York.

Heyman expects many other players to be involved from both sides of this trade, but there is no word yet on who those could be. We’ll keep you updated.

Spread the Rumor!
