The Mitchell report is out and you can read all about it here, here, here and everywhere else. In my opinion, the only thing you need to know about the report is this:Mitchell has recommended that the commissioner not punish players named in the report as having taken performance-enhancing drugs except "in cases where conduct is so serious where discipline is necessary to maintain the integrity of the game." I thought maybe I misunderstood the word integrity so I looked it up. My dictionary defines it as:
The quality of being honest and having strong principals; moral uprightness.
So maybe it's Mr. Mitchell who needs to check the dictionary. If cheating doesn't damage the integrity of game, I'm hard pressed to imagine what can. So open the Hall of Fame doors folks, it's time to welcome in all the steroid tainted players and their inflated records. And, with this new definition of integrity, we might as well bring in Pete Rose and Shoeless Joe.

Um, am I the only one wondering where the hell Rafael Palmeiro and Big Mac’s names are? If the Mitchell Report didn’t “catch” those guys are we really expected to believe this is even most of the players using?
Look for the commissioner and the players to form a committee to study this until it goes away.
